Locking hero skills?
Quote:
When I try this I get the same effect as just clicking the skill -- i.e., the green check comes up and the hero tries to use that skill. I've tried using both Left and Right Shift. Is wiki wrong or what am I missing? |

To lock a skill you need to hold whatever the 'suppress action' key is. It is normally shift but if you have changed it you will have to hold down whatever you changed it to.

you will know that its disabled when you see the skill icon with a big mark on top of it.
FYI. You can still use these skills, but you have to activate them yourself. I usually use that with my hero monk to make sure he keps an enchantment on me. |

Yeah, you will have to hold (normally) Shift and then click on the skill bar. If you click it, your hero will use priorize that skill and use it as soon as he can. When disabled, a big red mark covers the skill icon.

I agree with the earlier posts, sounds like maybe you reassigned the key? (its generally easier btw to supress the skills before you leave town as then you dont have the danger of just clicking them by accident)
To find out which key you have assigned to the "supress action" Go to the "Control" panel under options (f11) and scroll down a little way from the top. When you click on it the button you have assigned will show up in the top right hand box. If you dont have one assigned or you dont want to use the one assigned you can also type into the box provided to change it! |

If you don't know what Meth is talking about, then go to the options menu (F11) and click on the control tab. You'll see a list of actions that can be assigned a keystroke/mouse button. You are looking for the one that says Action: Suppress Action. Should be the first item after all the Action: Order Hero X to use Skill X items. Click on that and the right side box should list what key is currently bound to that action. If it is blank, then you need to assign a key to that action. |
